~IT’S FUNNIER IN ENOCHIAN~
The Winchesters don’t think Castiel is funny, and Castiel doesn’t think he is, either, but Balthazar does. Maybe the jokes themselves aren’t that great because Castiel doesn’t exactly understand humor or how to deliver a punchline, but the way he moves and smiles, looking at Balthazar to see what he thinks, asking quietly what did you think?, that makes Balthazar grin and laugh anyway.
That Castiel would doubt how closely Balthazar hangs on every word, be it a joke or an order or a simple Hello, brother, is something he finds endlessly amusing.
So Balthazar chuckles and laughs, sliding an arm around Castiel’s shoulders, bringing their foreheads together in a way that Castiel probably thinks is innocent. The Winchesters are a lot less oblivious, but Sam doesn’t care even if Dean’s always glaring and balling his hands into fists when he sees it. Balthazar whispers, “C’mon, tell us a joke, Cassie,” and Castiel does, getting blank looks from the boys when his joke about animals in a bar falls flat, but Balthazar still laughs.
“You thought that joke was good?” Dean asks, sounding appalled.
Balthazar shrugs, hand still hanging off of Castiel’s shoulder.
“It’s funnier in Enochian.”
